Not surprisingly, there is something about being in Paris that makes me want to wear the most minimal and chic looks - obviously Parisian inspired! My outfits are always somewhat inspired by whatever city I am in at the time, and Paris often feels like the one closest to my style anyway. Some classic pieces that can be thrown together effortlessly, it's very much what my wardrobe has become focused on anyway. And while I have begun to invest more and more in pieces that work within my everyday formula, the high street have some seriously great options available too. This whole look is from RESERVED, a relatively recent addition to the British high street (vlog watchers might remember I got to go to Poland with them in September to learn more about the brand too), and they have some great pieces in store at the mo!
This coat is a style everyone should have in their wardrobe, and the keep there for years and years. It never dates, never goes out of trend, is never hard to wear and style. Whether it be day to day, work, an evening - a coat in this style works for it all! Now while I will suffer for fashion (still wearing blazers over here), we are really into padded coats and faux fur weather so stepping back into the wool coats has to be worth it - and this one really is. And not all is lost when you can slip a knit underneath too (and a t-shirt and five thermals under that, writing this while sat in my flat with the heating on, a cuppa, a knit and a dressing gown, hence the references to the cold seeming very relevant). My love for grey high necked knits was ignited by Pinterest about three years ago and still lives strong within me, and will for years to come.
I think the jeans sort of steal the show here, because they seem so different to what I usually wear. My beloved vintage jeans has long ignited a love for long jeans, which always look amazing but aren't the easiest to style. They can be really unflattering, and almost always need to be paired with some heels to work well. It's all in the fit of them too, a straight leg and a snug fit over the bum and hips so it's as flattering as possible.
The indigo wash of this pair makes them way more chic and less reminiscent of the jeans my Dad wore when I was little, and the raw hem adds for that extra detail when the turn up is added. The raw hem is also a godsend for making these the perfect length for you. I am pretty tall (5"8) and have a big turn up here, so you might need to trim these off a little if you're smaller. It's something you shouldn't be scared of doing at all because it makes the jeans perfect for you, you can even cut them so they still sit long but without the turn up if it isn't your thing (although I personally love that detail).
I am 10000% taking these home with me for Christmas - I am heading back to Mum's for two weeks and anything coming in that suitcase really represents what I am loving right now. These jeans with some court heels and a fancy blouse over Christmas will be such a cool and easy look to pull together. Equally on a night out with some heeled boots and a tight fitting body suit would give me some 90s vibes in all the right way.
