Old vs New

Ahh jeans and a tee, nothing beats it. I did a post a while ago all about how to make the ultimate combination feel anything but boring. I still live by those rules, and now I am transitioning a little bit with boots and a leather jacket too. It's the perfect combination for those easy days, and it's made up of pieces that have been lurking in my wardrobe for ages.

I never know what the right balance is between old and new with fashion blogging. I do shop a lot, and not a week will go by where a new item doesn't come into my wardrobe. There is no denying it makes my job easier and keeps the inspiration flowing when it comes to creating outfits. However, no matter how many new pieces I acquire, I always go back to showing the same items some love. I personally love seeing a blogger wear one item lots of times, and seeing a pair of shoes from last season appear in a look again. Because, despite us bloggers being able to get our hands on lots of clothes, I always love to see an emphasis on basics and items that stand the test of time. And I guess in some ways, having a large wardrobe makes it easier to really tell which pieces do stand the test of time. Take my gorgeous Spirit boots from Dear Frances, I have been so excited to wear these again. They've become a wardrobe staple, and the fact that I have loadssss of other boots, yet these are the ones I am most excited to wear again, affirms that status even more!

SO that was a long winded way of saying... I love this outfit.
