You all know I am partial to the odd high end item. Designer pieces make up a relatively large portion of my wardrobe, and completely dominate my shoe and bag collection. For me, these pieces are always investments that I wear time after time, and that fit perfectly with items I already own. This means, when I order a new designer piece, a lot of thought goes into it, which is why I love to purchase online. The only purchase regrets I have are ones made in store, under the pressuring eye of a sales assistant, and the unnecessary feeling of 'I need to get this now'. For me, this is eradicated when I shop online, plus you can do it with a cuppa in hand, so it's a win win situation. Here is where I introduce LUISAVIAROMA. My new number one stop for a browse of gorgeous designer pieces. They have an incredible selection of items, from shoes to clothes, Gucci to Gianvito Rossi, you can loose a whole afternoon browsing through the incredible selection. Plus, they have free shipping and returns incase you do change your mind, result!
When choosing to invest in a piece, I always try and imagine it with at least five outfits made up from pieces I already own. I find it a good test to gauge whether or not it really will fit into your wardrobe, and be a worthwhile investment. Once it arrives, I also try it on everyday with what I am wearing for a few days (this works especially well with shoes). If on each day I feel like it works well with/improves my outfit, then it's a keeper! So, lets discuss this outfit a little...
Firstly, the shoes. I have loved these Aquazzura shoes for a long time, and swooned over many a Pinterest image of them. However, I have always been put off by the heel height, which would stop me from wearing them as much as I would like. So when I spotted this lower heeled version, I was instantly sold! The two-strap sandal has been a Summer essential for me for a while now, so adding in a pair with a little more pizzazz is a no brainer.
This skirt is an absolute winner for me. The A-line denim skirt was everywhere last season, and I could not find one that looked good on me for the life of me!! This Red Valentino one has changed that, and I think it's all thanks to the buckle detail on the waist, which gives the illusion of a thinner and more cinched in waist.
Finally, the black shirt. The ultimate throw-on-with-anything-and-look-effortlessly-amazing-piece, these are a staple year round for me, but really come into their own in Summer. This one by MM6 di Maison Margiela has tie details down the arms and through the body, giving you the option to play with the silhouette of the piece and make it look a little different each time.
I am also eyeing up this gorgeous Isbabel Marant jacket, which is similar to one I already have (and have worn to death!!), these very cute Red Valentino shoes, and this simple See by Chloe top. Let me know your thoughts!
