British Summertime

This post is sponsored by Jigsaw.

I don’t think I need to mention that I am a big fan of Jigsaw. Some of my biggest wardrobe staples are from Jigsaw (that longline blazer that I don’t ever grow tired of, for example), and it’s a brand I am always so proud to work with and share their collections with you guys.

This time I come to share some Summer pieces, from casual to very dressy indeed. Lets start with the former, and a piece you have seen me wear before; the best ever longline blazer, but in yellow. I have this jacket in three colours now and wear them all regularly, and am always on the look out for it online in even more shades. This yellow one is perfect for a Summer jacket - and believe me when I say these blazer stand the test of time. The quality is incredible. I styled them up with another Jigsaw piece I now have in two different colours; the slides. I spent much of last Summer in the black version of these, and plan to spend much of this Summer in this cream pair. I love these slides so much, the flatform espadrille sole being the main selling point for me. They are great to slip on with just about anything, and are comfy too! Finally, this skinny ribbed top. When I am shopping I am generally the least inspired by tops, hence super simple pieces like white shirts and t-shirts making up a huge portion of what I like to wear. So anything that can become one of those failsafe items you can throw on under anything is a major winner in my eyes - and this top is one of those pieces. The colour is great for the beige colour palette I gravitate towards in Summer, and I especially love the square neckline.

Second we have some culottes, these are insane!!! A light linen mix makes them a serious contender on your Summer holiday wardrobe, and they are so flattering. I have a pair of Jigsaw culottes that I have had for about a year now, and these achieve all the things that make me love my old ones so much. Mostly the way they can look like a skirt with how wide they are, combined with how well they fit over the hips and bum. It makes a piece that can be seen as sort of unflattering the complete opposite of that. These would also be a great beach coverup; pack ‘em in your suitcase, wear them on the first day, then repurpose them for the rest of your trip! I styled them with a white shirt tied up at the front, a look I am regularly going for at the moment.

And finally, a show stopper of a dress. I couldn’t resist this piece, despite the fact I don't have anywhere to wear it to. Lets all just imagine I have a fancy Summer wedding to go too and I can wear this. The colour is beautiful, even brighter in real life than it is showing up on these photos. It’s completely shapeless but I think it works so well. The weight of the fabric means it falls off the body in a really gorgeous way, and sways in a very elegant manner when you walk around too. I teamed it with my trusty Aquazzura Wild Thing sandals but you could wear this with most style of sandals. Do bare in mind I am quite tall for this one too (5”8), so it would be one for petite frames to avoid unless you want to be dragging on the floor. I mean the drama of that would be amazing, but it would be a shame to damage something as beautiful as this!
