Let me begin today by singing the praises of these jeans. They have been sitting in my wardrobe for quite some time now, well ever since I filmed this video to be exact. They weren't my favourite then, and they went unworn for quite some time. Then a month or so ago I ripped down the sewn in turn up on them (you can still see the crease at the bottom, because I couldn't be bothered to iron them). I thought to myself 'oh well done you that was a fabulous idea' then popped them back in my wardrobe for a little while longer. Then, (I know this is a long story about some jeans) just last week I pulled them out thinking they were some Levi's and put them on and thought 'BLIMEY what are these amazing jeans I never knew I had?!' The lack-of-turn-up makes them the perfect length and fit for me, and they sit nicely on the waist and are a super heavy denim. That was essentially a very longwinded way of saying I have had these jeans for ages and only just realised how fab they are. They're the 'ASOS Carrot' Jeans and I recommend you get them and take a pair of scissors to the turn up, and possibly even an iron too if you felt inclined.
The jeans also happen to be an amazing match with these boots. These incredible boots which I have been loving very intensely since I got them. Now they are part of my latest Testing Basics which is coming your way on Sunday so I won't say too much here, other than they fit true to size and are very easy to walk in. And the way these jeans sit on the tongue (is a tongue if it's on the outside?? The outside flap bit is what I am referring to here) of the shoes is rather dreamy indeed.
The purpose of this entire outfit was to share a possible look to wear on an evening out this time of year. Harry and I went out for dinner over the weekend and I couldn't find a single thing I wanted to wear that looked good and was also warm enough. As often happens in those "I hate my wardrobe and everything looks awful" moments, I ended chucking the most part of my wardrobe onto my bedroom floor and then hated myself later when I had to tidy it all up. So in the hope this will help you all avoid that moment, here is a look I wish I had gone for on that fateful evening. You've seen this long top before, a really easy statement that I am also eyeing up in the white. I added a turtleneck underneath because it's bloody baltic, and my (faux) leather jacket over that for more layers. Both warm and stylish (if I do say so myself), result!
