Afternoon Tea At Hotel Gotham
If anyone ever asks me where to stay in Manchester, I always say Hotel Gotham. While I have never actually stayed there before, it's a place I am always more than happy to recommend. Not only does it look amazing from the outside (it's Art Deco exterior is what drew me and my camera there for the first time, since then I have pranced around the street outside taking photos), but I can now confirm it's even better on the inside!
Based very centrally in Manchester, close to all the shops, bars and restaurants you could wish for, Hotel Gotham is both a fancy and stylish option for a stay, or just an afternoon, in Manchester. You can have a sneaky peak at what the rooms look like here, as for this post I am going to be focusing on the dining options. There are two dining areas at Hotel Gotham, Club Brass and Honey Restaurant. Club Brass is a members only bar, but the guests of the hotel have access too, where you can enjoy food and cocktails with a view over the city. It occupies the entire top floor, and it s pretty perfect spot for an afternoon drink! I am currently looking through the cocktail list they have, going 'oooohh' and 'aaaah' but it's 7am so I need to slow myself down a little.
Anyways, this post is going to be focused on the Honey Restaurant, their afternoon tea, and of course my outfit for the occasion!
All of Hotel Gotham is heavily inspired by the 1930s, and the Honey Restaurant is no exception. It's colour palette is my idea of an interior heaven, but the stand out aspect are the incredible arched windows with views out onto the city. A pretty incredible backdrop for some delicious afternoon tea! Overall, you just need to be ready to sit in a gorgeous setting, eat some yummy food and be served by attentive staff - sounds dreadful, I know!
So, lets talk about food! The afternoon tea was deliciousssss! My favourite tier was the middle sweet treats one, which I devoured within about 2 minutes and then was eyeing up Mum's half too. But of course the scone was a strong contender for the winning piece too, especially when covered in jam and clotted cream (my mouth is literally watering as I am writing this!!) All in all, I can't recommend Hotel Gotham enough. It will continue to be the place I mention to anyone coming to visit Manchester, only now I will be telling everyone to pop by for a meal, even if they aren't staying over.
Finally, onto my outfit, where I mainly want to talk about these trousers. I ordered them off ASOS (spoiler: I was meant to be keeping them off the blog until after my ASOS haul this Sunday, but couldn't resist) and I LOVE them! They are the perfect smart-casual piece and a great alternative to my beloved denim. The colour is a perfect nod to Spring too.. even if I am still wearing a coat!
