LA left me with a weird jet lag that manifested more in feeling unwell and unmotivated than really effecting my sleep pattern. It got me thinking about the little pick me ups you need when something has you feeling a little under the weather.
Giving yourself an extra half hour in bed.
I have always very much been a morning person. I find it easy to wake up early and get to work, and my idea of a lie in is around 8:30 and anything later will make me feel like I have missed too much of my day. It’s also meant I am often strict with waking up at a certain time, but this past week I have been revelling in having an extra half hour in bed. Even if it’s to lie there and day dream or scroll through my phone, just not jumping straight out has been making me a feel a little less run down each morning.
The smoothie run
Another morning aspect has been to get out of the house sharpish - which is an easy thing to do in the gorgeous weather we had last week. I have been trying to look after myself, eat a bit better and mostly not drink a lot of alcohol, so a smoothie in the morning has been feeling like an amazing treat. I have been talking a little walk down onto Westbourne Grove and picking up my fave smoothie which takes me about 0.3 seconds to finish and keeps me full for a few hours.
I very very rarely watch TV, mostly it’s background nice while I scroll through my phone. But after hearing so many people reccomending it I finally started Marcella and got completely hooked!! I watched the first series in three days and can’t wait to get onto the next. It’s one that makes you go ‘ahh just one more’ even though your eyes are stinging because you’re so tired.
The feedback you guys gave me on my Coachella blog post was a huge HUGE pick me up, so thank you so much!! I am hoping to incorporate that collaging effect in more upcoming posts I have been feeling a little stuck for something new to do for a while and this felt like turning a corner, and the fact you guys all loved it so much made it feel ever better. Under eye things
Odd one, but I have been loving the Patchology Under eye gel things. They really, really do the job and despite the price tag you do get a lot of them. I have been using them a couple of times a week and it really helps a puffy-tired face to look more awake, especially if you’ve been travelling loads. I would 100% repurchase these once I have run out, and look for some other ones to try out too.
