Kinky Boots

How incredible are these boots?! They're new in with me (obvs, I think you may have noticed these before, they're not exactly subtle), and they're all kinds of cool. The first kind of cool being that they're very very comfortable, and after putting my feet through their paces for my most recent testing basics, comfort is high on my agenda at the moment. Secondly, they're red. After seeing a few people (Lucy Williams, Hannah Crosskey) looking insanely fabulous in red boots I decided I needed a pair in my life too. So I was very very excited to welcome these ones into my wardrobe. They're a certainly different from my usual footwear choices, and I think you may already know my policy for trying something new; keep the rest of the outfit as minimal as possible to ease myself into this red boot world. I tried these on with a few looks before settling on this one - one I really liked (but would have frozen to death in) was some lighter was jeans and a white t-shirt... making mental note right now to wear that one when things get warmer. But as it's currently trying to snow in Manchester, a more practical outfit was needed. My Acne jumper which is warm enough to wear without a jacket (just as well because the sleeves take a little bit of work to get into a jacket) and some black skinnies. I really couldn't have got any more simple if I tried with this one! I am currently browsing through Pinterest like a madman for more inspo and ideas on how I could push the boat out with the styling of these ones, and hopefully will be back very soon with another post featuring them.

These photos were taken by the very talented and lovely Joe. I have shot with him a couple of times before (here and here), so when he said he and Liv (from What Olivia Did... while I know many of you may already be readers of her blog, if you're not then do go check it out as it's rather spectacular!) were in Manchester for the weekend I jumped at the chance to shoot with him again. As you can see, he is rather talented and I bloody love these snaps! So thank you so much to Joe, and he also has an incredible blog that you can read here
