Night Out/Date Night
Today I am sharing two looks that I don't often get chance to share. I try to add in the odd dressed up look here and there, but as I predominately share what I am wearing day to day, I don't get many opportunities to blog about my smarter looks. So I put together these two hypothetical outfits; one for a night out, and one for a date night.
First up, night out. I have to admit I don't often go on proper nights out anymore, but whenever I do my favourite part is getting ready. Now I am generally not the biggest fan of dresses. But if I am going to go for one it's got to be a shirt dress. I love how it remains androgynous, but still sort of sexy. Going on a night out is all about getting super dolled up and feeling a bit sexy! Also they tend to be minimal pieces, so it's the perfect time to get out some statement shoes. This particular pair are from Havva, and not only do they look incredible, they're also very comfy - making them the perfect dancing shoe. Topped off with a tailored jacket then you're good to go!
Next up we have a date night look. Or really any sort of posh evening look, which is something I get dressed for more often than I do a night out. Often I will go with jeans and a top of some sort, but for this post I really wanted to make sure to step away from the denim. So I went for another dress, but this time one a little longer for a slightly classier affair! Also this style of dress really needs a shorter jacket, at least for my figure. It gives me the illusion of having a slightly more hourglass shape than I actually do, whereas something longer would make me look wider than I am - and also frumpier!
The main item I need to talk about here are these incredible heels from Dear Frances. They're from her SS16 collection, and they are a dream come true. Dear Frances basically answers all my shoe dreams, but aren't this pair the most perfect summer shoe?! I love the white mesh strap over the toe, making them unlike any shoe of this style I have seen before.
