Some photos Scott and I shot in Venice beach wearing an all cream outfit that I was frankly way too hot in but still loved. I am still wearing these & Other Stories trousers all of the time and love them although wearing my sparkly Isabel Marant sandals with them did sort of shred the hem a little bit so I am going to have to attempt a sewing job (will end disastrously, I already know it). Anyway, now seems as good a time as any to talk about the weather, being British it's important to do this every now and then. But it seems very relevant right now because a HUGE clap of thunder just sounded and the heavens have just opened hopefully reducing the stickiness of this heat wave we have going on. Honestly all everyone is talking about is the weather - because it has been that all consuming. Spending a week in LA in similar temperatures, but in a city geared up for it, i.e one with air conditioning, and then coming back to London was a shock to the system. It has been zapping away my (and many others) motivation to do anything. I have barely been exercising because the thought of raising my body temperature is frightening, barely been sleeping through the night, don't really have the brain power for ideas and today I got on the central line and my life flashed before my eyes. Dramatics aside, when will this break?! And why is the weather so defining to us! Everyone I know is feeling the same, everyone I know is talking about how much they want one of those fancy Dyson fans which is just a hole and anyone who is lucky enough to own one of those is the envy of my existence right now. Ok we got to the dramatic again, and I have got one more bit to go... WHAT DO WE WEAR?! All my Summer dresses have been worn many, many times now I am feeling bored of the same looks. The silk one are currently looking at me from a pile in the corner of my bedroom where they have been waiting to go to the dry cleaners for far too long now, and I am sorely missing my jeans and blazers. Most mornings I slip on a blazer over my outfit just to see how much better the outfit would look before immediately taking it off because the extra layer, even for a moment, almost results in instant death.
Clearly the heat is making me a little dramatic too. Just took a break from writing this to stick my head out the window because it's raining but even the rain is hot so apparently London is not tropical, great news. Someone get me denim weather back right now.
