Here's me flirting with a Spring wardrobe, a little prematurely I must admit. But I am so bored of these grey and cold days, and was very excited when I finally found some new pieces in the shops that I really, really loved. I have been so uninspired by what's on the high street recently, but finally things are picking up and I had a pretty impressive shopping spree (mainly in & Other Stories) last week that was very successful indeed. One of the things I picked up was this shirt - I actually have a whole video coming up about how these pieces can be styled now for cold days, and also for Spring, so I won't dwell on this topic too much - but I think this shirt is going to be a really versatile piece. I am actually going away for some Winter sun tomorrow (more on that soon), and will be packing this, and also just got back from a trip away to Oslo where it was -5 and this shirt managed to make an appearance.
Obviously the styling here is a little more Spring appropriate (FYI, I wore it just like this in Oslo but with a black turtleneck knit underneath it). I think tying shirts like this is going to be a big part of the vibe of my wardrobe for Spring and Summer, I love the shape it brings to an outfit and despite what you may think it feels more secure than it looks. I am braless here and didn't feel like I was about to flash a nipple at all - I think the key is definitely picking out an oversized piece with lots of material to keep things as safe as possible. The only downside to this shirt is that is creases like crazy and was a nightmare once I pulled it out of a suitcase last week.
The jeans are also new, and the shape of these are insane. Shocker, also & Other Stories. Just to be clear on this one, they do often gift me pieces but all of these ones were purchased by me - they honestly have so much stuff I love I manage to find enough pieces I love via gifting and still have more pieces I want to get! The jeans might be an acquired taste - they are oversized, very long in the leg, with a high waist and curved shape to them. They do feel like they have a lot of material on them but I really like it. Again, great for now with knits, and in the Summer with a really 90s tank top and gold necklaces. They work well with flats but are killer with some heels - I would love to wear these on a night out with some shoes I can't walk in and a super tight body suit (puts down spoon full of peanut butter in preparation for that).
