Hello everyone!! I hope you're all well and had an amazing Christmas. As always it has flown by, but I am excited to be back updating my blog and I have SO many exciting posts coming your way throughout the next few weeks. I thought I would hit the ground running with another big'un, with lots of outfit inspo and also a little question for your guys; what should I wear for New Years Eve?! It's fast approaching and I am yet to decide on my outfit. I have narrowed it down to three options here, so please let me know your fave look! Obvs you will need to know my NYE plans to answer this question; we are going to be having a party at Harry's house. So we will be indoors all evening, meaning I don't have to worry about a practical cold weather outfit. It also means I can take my shoes off after half an hour, so can wear my trickiest heels and not worry about them killing my feet.
So, that's the logistics, here are the looks. First I have this dress from & Other Stories that I bought when Christmas shopping in Leeds a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had chance to wear it and this could be the perfect event - I love it so much! It's super flattering and also really comfortable. I teamed it with my Gianvito Rossi heels that I have had for years now and don't wear too often anymore - they are such a party shoe so they often come home with me at Christmas time for what is more of less and annual outing for them.
A simple look (ahem, you know me!) that I feel really nice in, so definitely a strong contender for the evening.
DRESS: c/o & OTHER STORIES | SHOES: GIANVITO ROSSI
Secondly we have something a little more fancy schmancy! Those of you who watched Vlogmas may remember the day I received a HUGEEE parcel from Urban Outfitters full of surprises? Well, one of those surprises was this dress. Something wayyyy sexier than I would normally go for, but I love the dark sparkles so I had to give it a go. As I am so not used to seeing myself in such tight fitting pieces, something form fitting and low cut seemed so much and would result in me tugging at the dress all evening - never a good look. So I slipped one of my skinny black turtlenecks underneath, and I actually really love how this looks together. It made me instantly feel waaayyy more comfortable and confident in this dress too. I am thinking this one could be the outfit, because when else am I am going to be able to wear a dress like this one?!
And finally, the outfit I am probably the most comfortable in - but is not too far from my day to day attire. Again, this is an outfit I got when Christmas shopping in Leeds, and I have worn these trousers a fair few times already over the Christmas period! They look so bloody good with a giant knit and have been my go-to for any evenings out. Teamed with a sparkly top, this is definitely my kinda way to do sparkles. I love the simplicity of the outfit, and also the touch of androgyny with the baggy t-shirt (I bought mine in two sizes bigger than usual). From afar it just looks like black pants a grey t-shirt, until it catches the light then it's all kinds of marvellous!!
This is without a doubt the outfit I feel the most comfortable in. It feels the most 'me', but, there will be so many occasions I can wear this look - you could even go for this during the day time with some boots and a coat. So I am just not sure it's special enough for NYE. Even if the gorgeous Gianvito heels do take things up a notch.
So, please let me know which one your fave is - I hope you all have exciting plans for NYE (even in exciting is seeing in 2017 with Jools Holland, which classes as an evening well spent in my books).
