After a long weekend back at Mum's eating a lot of chocolate and a lot of hot cross buns, there is only one thing for this week; stretchy pants. I did a video on Sunday about a mini-denim ban, and while nothing will make me give up denim, I am loving the stretchy waistband options that comes with other trousers. These new ones from Toteme are a dream come true for several reasons, the first of which being that elasticated waistband. Second is that they are all around perfection in every way imaginable and NO I am NOT being dramatic.
While I am sticking with NOT being dramatic I am nothing short of sheer exhaustion. What is it about sleeping a lot more than usually and generally slowing down that seems 10x more knackering than living life at 10000mph. I have had the most chilled weekend at home, lie ins, not lifting a finger, princess mode was on and it has simply taken the life from me. Maybe I am just wired to do a lot in a day in order to NOT be tired but that doesn't make any sense at all so cannot be right. Anyway I mostly spent the weekend either on Mum's sofa or various family members and I feel like I have run a marathon and also solved the world's hardest crossword along the way because my brain is mush also.
Dramatics aside, I have had the best long weekend at home and am very eager to get back into work in London now. I am off to LA next week (so excited I might wee) and so have a lot to get through before then to make sure I am fully on top of everything. I spent the free time I had at home online shopping into oblivion which has inspired me in a few ways - obviously to share it with you all, but also as I haven't shopped like that in so long what suddenly spurs me on to browse and shop in a frankly irresponsible way. More on that to come soon, because I am also wearing a lot of new pieces in this outfit. The best trousers ever (I am at a point where my reliance on jeans has become so great that I can easily justify buying any trousers that aren't denim), my new shoes I introduced you to last week, and this jacket that & Other Stories sent me (so not entirely counting as shopping as no spending was involved, but still new all the same).
All of the pieces in question here, especially as the two I have bought myself have been particularly pricey, are items I am envisioning to be a big part in my Spring/Summer wardrobe. Only time will tell how accurate that will be, and I am making a mental note of the high street items that I think are going to be wardrobe staples for me over the Summer too!
