This post is sponsored by Zalando. We aree backkk in Copenhagen! Well, not literally, but this post is taking us back there. Here is my second look from our time there, and my favourite of the two. Mostly down to these insanneeeee trousers!! They came from a very lovely section of Zalando that I have since been obsessively checking... Scandi section (aka heaven). You guys know I shop at Zalando all the time but this is the first time I have found this little section of the site, which is packed full of all the Scandinavian brands you could dream of. It's fab because these brands aren't ones we can find on the high street over here, and they have some of my all time favourites; Baum und Pferdgarten, Minimum, By Malene Birger, Fillipa K... just to name a few. I picked up two pieces for this outfit; these incredible Baum und Pfrerdgarten trousers which are the perfect length on me which is almost unheard of in trousers like these ones. And this Minimum zip turtleneck which I have worn so much already. Why has it taken me so long to find a jumper like this?! Not only does it look fantastic on it's own, but it's one killer layering piece too. Paired with this jacket I do look like a bit of a ring-pull fanatic, but lets just go with it.
The thing I love about the pants the most is the subtle stripe print, which doesn't look like much from afar. They're velvet, so the texture and slight sheen means the stripes only reveal themselves in certain light and angles, and I really love that. The cut and shape of them is also pretty spectacular, and I really do struggle in finding this in wide leg trousers. They go from being the most unflattering piece in the world, to the most flattering with just a few tweaks to the fit; the right leg length (obviously that one depends on your height) and fit over the hips, where they look best if they just skim down into the wider leg, rather than being too tight and clinging to the thighs. In short, these pants are fab and I am so glad I got them. AND MY GOODNESS I FIND MYSELF BEING ON TREND.. we saw lots of stripey wide leg trousers in the showroom and on the catwalk, for someone who doesn't follow trends too closely this is tremendously exciting!
One of the highlights of our whole CPHFW was seeing the By Malene Birger Show. We got to sit front row which has neverrr happened to me before and it was incredible!!! From the red boots, to striped trousers and suits, there were so many pieces I loved and wanted to wear straight away. Do you see the stripey trousers in the background there?? With my new trend-setting (am I taking this too far) mindset I thought I would pull together some of my favourite pieces from the Zalando Scandi selection for you to browse, and you can take it from me that these are all very on trend because I clearly know about these things... okay I am definitely taking this one too far now.
