Here we go with lots and lots of content I shot in LA. When I travel I think a lot about what sort of content I can create for you guys while I am there, and a big concern with LA was that it was going to be hot when we are all in winter mode over in the UK - so it would be hard to make content that fits with the season. Thankfully I just missed the 40 degrees heat wave, so after a couple of warm days there was grey skies and cool days - not ideal for a holiday, but perfect for shooting!
So today I am gonna share the looks I wore on those warm days. I know a fair few of you are reading from Australia, so I hope this provides some summer inspo for you guys - and for those of us currently sat with the heating on at home, I hope you just enjoy some summer vibes!
It was sort of a nice challenge to go back into some summer looks, because I wanted to incorporate pieces I am loving lots at the moment and make them summer appropriate again. This blouse from Weekday was a piece I am ashamed to say I forgot I had. It was on a hanger underneath a jacket so I was never seeing it, and was so excited to discover it again. It was perfect for LA because it was so loose fitting, despite having long sleeves. I tucked it into my old favourite levi cut offs, and my & Other stories belt to cinch everything in. My Rochas shoes are possibly one of my favourite purchases this year. I struggle keeping on backless shoes when it gets really cold because it makes your feet shrink a little and the shoes just fly off. So I was pleased to get to wear these a little while longer as they are amongst my favourite pairs in my shoe collection.
The second look is made up of a few new pieces I picked up while I was in LA. I went to Reformation (obviously) and bought a silk skirt and shirt. I was on the look out for pieces I could wear there (because I’m so impatient) but also items I can wear when I am back home. Both of these tick those boxes - I am thinking this skirt with my knee high Dear Frances boots, or Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots. And the shirt layered over a beige turtleneck and my Stella blazer over that too. Keep your eyes peeled on my Instagram for these looks, because both of these pieces are items I am desperate to wear as much as possible.
For the summer vibes I styled them with my red vans (love these with lots of outfits, but mostly with all black!) and my Khaite denim jacket. I was looking over the blog post I shared with this in the other day and noticed the collar is ALWAYS up and it’s been annoying me endlessly ever since. Another reason this isn’t worth the money, even if I am wearing it more than I anticipated.

And finally! Another all black look. These Weekday trousers you have seen a few times before. They are sort of thick so not completely ideal for a summer look, but they worked really well with this Reformation top (I bought this the first ever time I was in LA). I had been seeing loads of crop top/high waisted trousers combinations on tumblr so wanted to recreate something like that. This top is super revealing so it’s cool to wear it with something really un-sexy to balance it out, and these trousers are perfect for that. And of course my Celine loafers which I am still in love with, and will be forever and ever.
