No week on 35mm today because I am blogging from LA, so I am going to have some hugeee film posts coming your way next week once I have everything developed! So in the meantime I am sharing an outfit I really love, all shot in film around Holland Park last week before I came away. Denim and leather is a really standard combination for me around this time of year, but usually denim on my legs and leather an outerwear. Since these & Other Stories leather trousers have arrived I have been thinking about all the ways to wear them, but for the first outing I did a reversal of my usual denim and leather combination.
I have had a few pairs of leather trousers before, but never a pair that aren't in a leggings style, which is what I love so much about these. They're pretty much the style and shape of the denim I love, only in the softest leather ever. And it really is amazingly soft, making them easy to wear and not creaky and stiff trousers that make a finny noise when you walk (I am think specifically here of the vinyl pant trend, which you can literally hear coming towards you). I think they are a great option for an evening look too, and generally something to get me out of wearing denim on a daily basis.
The other new piece in this look is this All Saints knit. I literally wore this for an entire week without washing it which is both disgusting and a testimony to how attached to it I became (I want to make clear this outing was about day 3, and the other days were mostly spent running errands or at home). The colour is probably my favourite thing about this, because it looks amazing with blue denim too. It's one of those pieces that are easy to throw on and always look good, and is also insanely comfortable which makes me want to wear it so relentlessly. But with this outfit it worked really well with the shinier texture of the leather, and of course turned out to be a match made in heaven with my Miu Miu sandals, I think this is going to be their last outing of the year now as it gets colder and colder.
Finally, for the denim, I went with my Khaite denim jacket. Which I have to say I have worn more than I expected, but it still isn't worth the price tag. I think any black denim jacket will do the trick, but I will say that a denim jacket is very versatile in a wardrobe. It was a milder day when I wore this, hence the denim outerwear and sandals, but I am thinking this will work well with my & Other Stories camel coat from last season and some high top Converse too - or heeled boots and a silk blouse with lots of buttons undone for an evening, finished off with my Stella McCartney blazer.
