I think accessorising and the idea of investing in jewellery becomes more and more relevant as you get older. All of my friends who are closer to their 30s have incredible jewellery collections, and are more inclined to prioritise investing in that than I am right now. But one thing I become increasingly aware of is how much it transforms outfits, especially when you rely so heavily on a wardrobe of basics like I do. So I find myself looking more and more into jewellery, thinking about where I could invest, what pieces would work for me on a daily basis.
A month or so ago Astley Clarke sent me this gorgeous ring, and it instantly become something I reached for everyday. I got so many compliments on it (from you guys in my videos, and also people in real life!) and it made me realise how much attention jewellery can draw - even when it's minimal. So, with the help of Astley Clarke, I thought I would experiment a little with how jewellery can spice up your favourite basic combinations. My most worn white t-shirt from ASOS, and the & Other Stories jeans I can't get enough of - this is something I wear at least once a week, but this time with some different jewellery options there too. All pieces are from the Colours of Calder collection at Astley Clarke, which is both minimal and a statement at the same time. There is the option to experiment with colour, mix and match metals, all with beautifully designed pieces.
So, above with no jewellery. The only piece I religiously wear is my watch, which I don't leave the house without. I am about to ditch it for this post, but that watch really has taught me how much a single piece can become part of your daily identity. Something I want to be able to find in other pieces of jewellery too!
What I love about the Colours of Calder collection is the mix of metals and semi precious stones. The tigers eye ones are possibly my favourites, I love the depth of tigers eye and it looks stunning against gold on this incredible ring. But, as I said at the beginning, it's fun to be able to mix and match a little. So I have gone with a different coloured stone on the necklace. This gorgeously dainty necklace is an amazing layering piece, and if you already have a collection of gold necklaces it would fit perfectly within that, and add a little something extra with the dark green stone. Short necklaces like this one are ones I always find easier to wear, because you can layer them over a crew neckline like I have done here, and also wear them against bare skin with a plunging neckline. I find longer ones awkward to style over t-shirt, so would definitely prioritise investing in a shorter one!

Next up, I have even more jewellery on! Including the same style of ring in the most amazing blue shade. These come in a midi size too, which I love. I think rings are such a great place to start with building up an accessories collection. They are somewhat separate from your outfit, meaning they can work with even more things. I am also so drawn to rings on other people, something about the way people often talk with their hands which just really draws in your attention to any jewellery they have on their hands. Although I think these ones would manage to draw attention even if you sat on your hands while you talked! They are incredible!
I am also wearing earrings!! I have long thought my piercings in my ears had filled in as I haven't worn earrings in years. I have been loving to wear my hair tied back recently, which is when earrings can really transform a look. I love the oval shape of these ones which makes them feel like a updated version of hooped earrings, once again with the addition of the gorgeous tigers eye stone. And a little more tigers eye with the bracelet too, but more on that below...

Being a religious watch wearer means I often neglect bracelets more than any other jewellery. My wrist feels complete with the watch, but it's sort of a missed opportunity to build upon that! These cuffs are some of my favourite pieces in the collection. I think they look amazing on their own, and could be especially striking with an evening look. Aside from the small hoop earrings I have on here, I wanted to go for just the cuffs for this one. Again, the different coloured stones stop things being too balanced, but I love the understated glamour these bring into such a minimal outfit. It definitely helps to elevate high street pieces, which you guys know is super important to me too!
Hope you guys enjoyed this one and feel a little inspired to experiment with accessorising if it's not something you do already. I am really hoping to create more posts like this around my own growing jewellery collection too!
