Any long time readers will know I have long been a fan of Uniqlo, specifically their knitwear which has featured on here countless times. And what is better than one of your favourite shops collaborating with one of your biggest style icons? Yep, I am of course talking about the second instalment of Carine Roitfeld's collection for Uniqlo.
The collection will be available online from 11pm on the 10th February, and in stores from the 11th, and I shall definitely be ordering some pieces from it! For the price point of Uniqlo (which is always amazing, from £7.90 - £149), the quality and fit of these pieces is outstanding. I think this look here is one of the most flattering I have ever worn. Ms. Roitfeld has stuck to what she always does so well: beautifully classic pieces, made new by gorgeous materials that look effortlessly stylish.
Not only do the items look amazing, they are incredibly functional too. Anyone else put off ironing for all you're worth?? (Harry and I are both guilty of trying to iron the t-shirts we are wearing with a hairdryer before reaching for the dreaded iron). Well, this is the collection for you. I was in such a rush when I packed up this outfit to shoot it, I did the worst job of folding this shirt ever. It was pretty much scrunched into a bag - and it made it to the other end completely perfectly! Not a wrinkle in sight! I don't know what this magic is, but I do know I want more of it.
Jacket, Suede Shirt, and Trousers all Carine Roitfeld x Uniqlo.
Browsing through the lookbook for this collection completely inspired me to go for a print, which you guys know is pretty out there for me. Where I would normally consider prints a much less effortless option to a solid colour, seeing it amongst the rest of the collection made me reconsider this position. Carine Roitfeld has created the most wearable prints ever, and I feel like my eyes have been opened to the possibilities of green!!
What I love the most about the collection, is how everything will work together, which makes pieces like this top much easier to style - the work is all done for you! It makes stepping out of my comfort zone much more tempting and less intimidating. I think that the prints still have that oh-I-just-threw-this-on-and-it-looks-effortlessly-amazing look, which I normally find easier to achieve with a muted colour palette. There is also a military jacket with this print on too.. I am seriously tempted by it!

For a final outfit I (again) took inspiration from the lookbook and suited up. This is one of the main reasons I believe black trousers like this are an essential in every wardrobe - you can create custom suits with them, and then the next day throw on a knit and some trainers! They are even more versatile than denim!
This particular pair has a zip opening at the bottom of the leg, which I was so excited about I went for the zip up for both looks featuring these trousers. And do you guys agree they look as good with flats as they do with heels? Again, this has opened my eyes to the potential of a print. I love how this looks with a minimal suit, it updates a look I often wear in a really new and exciting way.
So, which piece is your favourite? The jacket, the top, or the trousers? Of course the collection is full of much more, which you can have a browse through here ahead of it's release. I think I am going to snap up the silk shirt and one of the blazers.
