My weekend was spent in London, which was super lovely and was topped by a visit to Dear Frances shoe studio where I got to meet the designer Jane Frances and view her amazing collection. Jane, who hails from Sydney, via Milan and Paris, has a design ethic which I am totally in sync with - classic, simple lines but with a twist, with superb detailing and finish. Her use of Perspex in the 'Float' boot is one of the first things that caught my eye - and these have been updated in her Spring Summer collection in the form of a gorgeous mule. Also available in pink, which I am surprised to say I love, and if I am converted to loving something pink then you know its special! Her winter collection includes the softest suede brogues, which I will feature on the blog in days to come, and the wooden heeled ankle boots are superb. The details are what make these classic styles so special, with hand painted heels, tiny buckles and mesh detailing, every shoe is a modern wardrobe classic. A big big thank you to Jane, and Victoria her assistant - I just know we will be seeing a lot more of this brand, she is definitely destined for some fantastic things!
