Getting Dolled up for Valentines
Urban Outfitters have kindly sent me some gorgeoussss items to help me look my most fabulous this Valentines Day! I thought the best way to share these was to do a little 'Get Ready With Me' style post. So, here we have some snaps showing how I get tarted up, and I've got a video to follow tomorrow too!
When I do my make up I always start with my foundation, fill in the ol' brows, and then move on to making my eyes look less like they have sunken into my head.
For my eyes I wanted to go with quite a simple eye look, which was honestly down to the fact I didn't fancy doing a winged eyeliner on camera. I am really rubbish at it, and the video I have filmed would be at least an hour long as you watched me gradually make the line thicker and thicker to hide mistakes!!
Sometimes I do very much prefer to do a simple eye, especially when I am doing a bold lip like I am here. So to keep the eyes glam I went with a bronze and gold look, with a bit of a matte dark brown in my crease to keep the look smokey.
For mascara I used the Eyeko one, which I was completely sold by the packaging. It's like a squeezy tube so you can actually get all the product out - which is something which usually annoys me about mascaras! This one is definitely not the most high impact one I have used, however, it gives you gorgeous fluttery lashes for a slightly more natural look.
I deliberately leave concealer until after the eye makeup to hide the inevitable mess I have made and just neaten everything up.
Finishing touches time!! Here is the statement of the look: a bold red lip. Please don't be too overwhelmed be my originality of doing a bold lip for Valentines! I went for a matte lippy too as I think it is even more of a statement, and if I do say so myself, I think it offsets the understated glam of the eye makeup perfectly!
Voila! Here is the finished look! Harry and I don't actually have any plans for Valentines Day, so I styled something that I can easily dress up or down. Also helloooo cleavage (well, a little bit!) I don't usually do something as low cut as this, but I really love it!! And it's perfect to show off a necklace as fabulous as this!
I had originally planned to do an all black look, with a tan jacket. But, due to having a fat knee and a large leg brace on, skinnies are out of the question. It's actually a perfect way to make me stop living out of black skinnines, which is something I have been meaning to do for ages. However, I am already missing them!
In replacement on the skinnies I went for some baggy jeans, and finished it all off with this AMAZING suede bomber jacket. It is also available in black, and I resisted the strong urge to add another black bomber to my collection. I am so glad I did! I love this colour so much, how amazing would it look with all black and killer heels?? Watch this space, because I promise to share that look as soon as I can!
