Now I don’t want to be held to blame if some polar vortex grips us in the next few weeks for saying this, but… it sort of feels like spring is here!! I thought I would pull together some of the things inspiring me for the upcoming season, that I have decided has arrived already! All photos pulled from Tumblr and got me feeling inspired about different things
First up; shirts. I have been very into wearing a shirt over a t-shirt recently, and I plan to keep this look moving forward into spring. I would like to up the anti with adding more oversized shirts, or just men’s ones in general! I LOVE this beige colour too, but also would like a mens one in white and black to complete the perfect trio.
My love for a cardigan throughout Spring and Summer has not been subtle, and it is not waning! I have two cream one from & Other Stories (this one and this one) that I am itching to wear with white trousers, with my hair in a low loose bun, nothing on underneath the cardigan, and some amazing loafers or slides to finish it off. Also this image is making a strong case for a wrap one, but I plan on wearing the ones I already have a few times and then seeing if I want to elevate this with a new cardigan, I am doing my best to not shop where I can.
The Daniel Lee Bottega Venetta campaign has had a lasting impression on me. Not only was the imagery enough inspiration to get me looking at a mini break to somewhere HOT to shoot some content, but the styling was something else. The bare foot styling had me lusting after some barely there shoes (these would be perfect!!), so I can emulate that look without actually spending the Summer barefoot! I don’t think the long leather shorts would work for me in any capacity, but it’s got me rewearing my & Other Stories leather trousers from last winter, which I want to wear with a white tank and the aforementioned sandals.
I think a cream colour palette is going to be the way forward for a lot of us over Spring and Summer, I want to switch between oversized everything, and some skin tight body suits. I recently dug out my old The Line By K white body suit that I have had for YEARS and it reminded me of how much I love the silhouette of something tight with some baggy jeans. The Line By K still does the very best ones in my opinion and I am considering facing up to the customs charges to order one more for my Spring collection (maybe this one, or this one). I would wear with these huge jeans from Weekday that I already own but have never worn, or my linen vintage white trousers, and drape a knit over the shoulders like below to balance out the sexiness of something so skin tight.
While the baggy leather shorts from Bottega aren’t for me, it doesn’t mean baggy shorts aren’t. I am massively into this pyjama-esque styling - would look amazing with the barely there sandals and a white bodysuit too. These ones fit the bill nicely and I have them already but just need to remember where I have put them, they seem to have evaporated, but hopefully will materialise soon! If they don’t show up, these ones are similar but also brilliant! If anyone knows of any checked ones like these, then please do share them!
